Shades Mountain All-Stars is our athletic program run by Camp Adventure which is a ministry of Shades Mountain Community Church.

We providing a semi-competitive basketball league

for kids in grades 1st-8th in the winter.

In future years, it is our desire to offer additional sports beyond basketball.

The goal of this athletic program is to provide kids with an environment where they can learn the ins-and-outs of the game (including how to win and lose) and enjoy the thrill of competition, while still making each kid feel like a vital part of the team, regardless of their ability.

 

We keep score, teams have a win-lose record, and yet our coaches care more about building excellent athletes, both on and off the playing field, rather than a winning team.

 

Shades Mountain All Stars is for boys and girls in 1st-8th grade and is open to all children regardless of race, color, religion or ethnic background. Please remember that Shades Mountain All-Stars (and Camp Adventure) is a ministry of Shades Mountain Community Church and seeks to teach biblical principles to our athletes though the environment of coaching and competing.

Registration runs from the beginning of October through mid-November. Player evaluations will be in late November with practices beginning in December, and the first games will be scheduled for the first Saturday in January.  All other games in the 8 week season, will be held Saturday mornings thereafter, and we will be wrapping up the season the towards the end of February. 

Practices are one night a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays,  or Thursdays and games are Saturday mornings. A full practice and game schedule will be given out at the start of the season.

It is our intention to have a 1st-2nd grade league and a  3rd-5th grade league, both co-ed, and a 6th-8th grade league, separated by gender. This is subject to change based on the number of kids in the league.

The cost of the league is $75 from October 1-31, and will increase to $85 from November 1-13. This includes a jersey.
